No fewer than 3,000 members of
Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Ogun State chapter have defected to the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Some of the mammoth party
faithful who were led by the party leader, Hon. Akeem Akintoye Amosun in
Abeokuta on Wednesday hinted that the APC has failed Nigerians that his why
they opted for the PDP.
Speaking to Journalists, Amosun
disclosed that the PDP was more formidable and capable of leading the state to
the next level, hence, they have decided to join the party factional
Governorship candidate in the last election, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu to
support his governorship ambition.
He said, '' we know that
the only two main parties we have in the country are APC and PDP and we
did analysis and we found that the PDP has good leaders we can work with
and it also has the chance at the poll in 2023.
''I and my over three thousand
followers are dumping ANN for PDP today, all these people you are seeing they
are my followers my people, associates and partners.
''There is no parties that will
not have internal crises but we believed that crisis in PDP in Ogun State is
minimal and it will be resolved soon.
Adebutu in his remark stressed
that the PDP was on the mission to deliver the state from the All Progressives
Congress, adding that the APC lacks the competence to paddle the affairs of the
state.
He argued that the APC cannot
meet the standard of PDP that is why the people's demands is yet to be met
since the election was held.
He however implored all PDP's
members to unite in order to unseat the sitting government in the coming 2023
election, expressing optimism that he would emerge winner of the election.
Adebutu added that because of
the incompetence of the APC, the state would not be difficult for the PDP to
take over.
