The Ogun state Commissioner for culture and
tourism, Rt. Hon. Muyiwa Oladipo has declared his support for the governorship
candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Prince Dapo Abiodun, saying he
can’t leave the party for any reason, and that he would rather leave the party only when his boss, govervor Amosun leaves.
Many have been wondering which party the Hon
Commissioner belongs, based on his total silence in this political terrain, but
just recently, Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo speaks on why he still remain in the ruling
party.
In his words with a journalist, He said
“Truly there has been many gossip here and there based on where I belong, most
especially when I am silent about the ongoing politics in the state. But I must
confess to you that I Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo, I am in APC. APC is the party
founded by our late father, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, I mean the Action Group,
that later was transform to Alliance for Democracy, and later to SDP and now,
APC by the agreement of the political elders.
“There was a time I showed my interest in
contesting for governorship position of this state, but God said it is not yet
time, that I should go and relax and not stress myself. Let me be frank with
you, I am in ruling party, APC and I am working for the governorship candidate
of APC, which is Prince Dapo Abiodun who I am very sure by the grace of God
will emerge.
“I am in APC because my boss, Governor
Ibikunle Amosun who appointed me is still in APC, though we all cannot sleep
and put our heads in the same direction, and we all have our conscience to
follow, this is why my boss is supporting another candidate from the opposition
party, APM. This life is like a talking drum, what faces someone may back
another. There is something my boss, Governor Amosun saw, which is why he is
supporting Hon Adekunle Akinlade, the sky is very wide that birds fly without
touching each other.
“Many Commissioners have resigned from their
appointed post, but why I have not resigned is because the party that appointed
me is still the one ruling, the governor never said he is going to APM, so I
have no reason leaving the party. If the governor leave the party for APM today
and you still see me in APC tomorrow, then you can judge me.
“If the governor which to remove me because
of my interest, he can do that, but I know my boss, he cannot do that because
everybody is entitled to his own wish.
“I will just advise the people of Ogun state,
most especially the youths that they should be very wise in working for dreaded
politicians. Any leader that send them to go and kill for him or her, they
should tell such leader to put his or her children forward. A leader without
the fear of God will send thugs to go and kill for him.” He concluded.
