Dapo Abiodun VS Governor Ibikunle Amosun: The case of kettle calling pot black

The political scene in Ogun state has witnessed so many reactions and can be described as the most popular political conflict  that has occurred since APC party primaries.

Infact, it is still going on and the major contenders on this scene are the Governor Of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and an intending governor, Dapo Abidoun.

A recap of the issue which is known by everyone is that Governor Amosun brought in his candidate, Hon Adekunle Akinlade and expected the primaries to be in his favour by all means but unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned, Dapo Abiodun outsmarted him and won the primary election.

Since then, there has been so many attacks, so many court cases, so many meetings by both parties, it was also reliably gathered that Governor Amosun ran to President Buhari with traditional leaders to wade in into the affairs but all has proved futile so far.

On the other hand, Dapo Abiodun who seems to be a very strong opposition has been on his feet trying to protect the victory he acquired through crooked ways.

He was said to have sealed the victory with the APC National leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President Of Nigeria, Yemi Osibanjo and other political big wigs.

The outcome of this has led to a lot of name calling by the supporters of both parties, there is a strong hatred that has been built in Ogun state among this followers and it has already become an issue of ‘who get mouth pass’.

No matter how Desperate Governor Amosun could be, and no matter how cunning Dapo Abiodun could be, the truth is both of them are not saint, they are both political cheaters who wants to ensure victory for selfish gains.

The news headlines is always filled with both parties pointing fingers at each other but the question is are they doing this in the interest of Ogun state people or for their personal pockets? We all know the answer, it’s for their personal gains.

Is it Dapo Abiodun that stole the mandate of the people, the one that camped NWC members in a five star hotel and fed them, the one that went around begging preferred candidates to step down for him or the one that brought in thugs to beat people, stop people from voting so he can have his way by imposing a candidate on Ogun people? What is the difference? Non of them have the right to point fingers. Like the yorubas will say ‘Shago n’bugo’.
