The newly elected Chairman of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, MDCAN, Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abuja chapter, Dr. Samaila Timothy, has pledged to place the welfare of members at the forefront of his administration while promoting transparency, accountability, and excellence in healthcare delivery.

Speaking via a statement made available to journalists on Sunday in Taraba state after his election, Dr. Timothy said his leadership would be guided by openness and inclusiveness, with a commitment to protecting the interests of consultants and strengthening the association.

“The welfare of our members will be at the forefront of my administration. We are committed to an open and transparent leadership that protects the interests of consultants and promotes excellence in healthcare delivery,” he said.

He appealed to members to support his administration, assuring them that he would remain accountable to the association.

“I urge members of this association to give me their maximum support so that together we can take MDCAN to greater heights. I will work on the strength of the mandate you have given me and remain accountable to the members,” he added.

Acknowledging the enormous responsibility of his new office, Dr. Timothy sought the continued guidance and support of his predecessor, Dr. Abdullahi Nasiru.

“The shoes I am stepping into are bigger than me. I will need your collaboration and experience to succeed,” he said.
