A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ogun state, Alhaji Akinyele Sharafadeen Ogunwoolu have alleged the Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Senator Ibikunle Amosun over anti-party activities.
Ogunwoolu who is the leader of APC in Ward 8 of the party made this allegation in the name of Grass-root APC Party Leaders recently, saying the party leaders should not overlook it.
In a one page press release issued out on Monday, the party chieftain urged the state excecutive committee of the party to commence necessary constitutional procedure, particularly Article 21 of the party constitution on the allegation of gross misconduct leveled against the former governor of the state.
Among the allegtions were; (i) toying with the supremacy of the party constitution (ii) factionalizing the party in Ogun state. (iii) misuse of his constituency allowance to sponsor African Democratic Congress, ADC. (iv) open declaration of support for the other party i.e African Democratic Congress, ADC and (v) customizing vehicle, printing of posters etc to support ADC, thereby subjecting APC Ogun state to ridicule and hatred.
“The groups petition, received by the office of the chairman, All Pogressives Congress (APC, Ogun state secretariat, Iyana-Mortuary, Abeokuta on the 20th April, 2023 and in accordance with the provision of the constitution of the party has seven days within which to through appropriate fact finding committee to do the needful and get to the root of the allegation.
“It is believed that the contitution gives NO ROOM for sacred cow, hence the group may seek redress through People’s Parliament to make the State Executive of All Progressive Congress (APC) take appropriate action to listen and do the needful to censure the alleged personality.”
