As part of its annual philanthropic gesture, the Oba-elect of Orile Ilawo in Odeda local government area of Ogun State, Professor Olusegun Alexander Macgregor has fed about Ten thousand residents of Orile Ilawo and its environs who are less privileged in the society.
The distribution of food items was done at his ancestral home tagged ‘Macgregor Heritage House, Ilawo’ Abeokuta.
National Catalyst report that the distribution of the food items was held as smoothly as possible with both the aged, vulnerable, and youths enjoying from the largesse which was quantified to have cost thousands of naira.
The gesture was conceptualized to support the needy at auspicious occasions like the birth of Jesus Christ and other celebrations and since he started the gesture years ago, he has not departed from the path.
Professor Macgregor according to people present at the venue has taken the project an utmost priority annually with a vision which has gained so much popularity among his people.
“He is using the platform to express gratitude to God for His enduring grace upon the Nigerian Nation and her entire citizens, adding that, the gesture is also to ensure that the less privilege were not left out in the joy of the season."
He admonished sons and daughters of Orile Ilawo to remain peaceful and committed to God Almighty for the solutions to the country’s problems, such as security, economy, governance as well as their personal problems.
