Omu-Aran Federal College of Education Bill scales first reading for concurrence in Senate -




A Bill for an Act seeking to establish the Federal College of Education in Omu-Aran, Kwara State on Tuesday scaled first reading in the Senate for concurrence.

Senate Leader, Sen. Gobir Abdullahi (Sokoto- East) presented the Bill on the floor of the House in Abuja at the resumed plenary of the lawmaker. 

It would be recalled that Rep. Tunji Olawuyi, member, representing, Ekiti, Irepodun, Isin and Oke-ero Federal Constituency of Kwara had sponsored the Bill in the House of Representative.

The Bill is to provide full time courses, teaching, instructions and training in Technology, Applied Science, Arts, Social Sciences, Humanities and Management.


The Bill would also provide for the appointment of the Provost and other officers of the College, to carry out the administration and the discipline of students of the College.

The lawmaker had also sponsored  five bills and one motion in the House of Reps.

This include: a Bill for An Act to provide for the establishment of Nigerian Iron and Steel Development Act, a Bill for an Act to provide for the establishment of the Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ayedun, Oke-ero LGA, Kwara State.

Others include: a Bill for an Act to provide for the regulation of Air passengers rights and delay and cancellation of flights in Nigeria and a Bill for an Act to establish food processing and preservation centres, Osi, in Ekiti LGA, Kwara State.
